The only way to truly stick to any goal is by writing it down. Whether it’s writing a strict grocery list or a to-do list for the day. Writing your goals down will help you get things accomplished. The same goes for sticking to a budget.
“You are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down,” according to a psychology expert on Inc.com.
Here is a list of three things to write out for your budget that will help you save more and spend less.
Money-Saving Tip #1
Write down all of your income at the beginning of each month.
Money-Saving Tip #2
Write down the amount of your bills and expenses each month.
(Tips 1 & 2 will help you understand what’s coming in, what’s going out and why.)
Money-Saving Tip #3
Don’t forget to include what you spend on eating out, birthdays, holidays and any other events.
Once you cut back on expenses, find a way to invest the extra money or put it in a savings account.
Remember that money adds up over time. Saving and investing a small amount can still provide you with hundreds or thousands of dollars in just one year.
